Degree courses

Degree courses at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia consist of a system based on two cycles or levels, sequential to each other.
The first cycle, which lasts 3 years, awards a Bachelor degree (Laurea), while a further 2 years of study produces a Masters degree (Laurea Magistrale). There are, however, a number of Single Cycle, or Combined Bachelor and Masters degree courses lasting 5 or 6 years.

Post Graduate Studies

After obtaining a degree, it is also possible to continue with Professional Masters programmes (1 or 2 years) and Short Vocational courses. These can usually be started after a bachelor degree.

Doctorate Research Programmes (3 years) are available after a masters degree.
